WINTER: Moody skies, dramatic waves, and quiet beaches. Winter elopements feel cozy, romantic, and wonderfully private — perfect for couples who love the wild beauty of the coast. The most vibrant sunsets are in the winter.

SPRING: It can be rainy with plenty of sunshine filled days. Spring often brings soft light and a mix of sunshine and misty coastal mornings.

One of the most beautiful (and slightly unpredictable) parts of the Oregon Coast is the weather. The coast is — sometimes sunny, sometimes misty, often a little windy — and it all adds to the magic of a coastal elopement. The key is embracing the experience and being ready for whatever the ocean brings.

SUMMER: The warmest and most popular season for Oregon Coast elopements. Longer day and calmer weather make it a beautiful time to celebrate by the ocean. Fog is more likely to roll in mornings and evenings.

FALL: One of the best-kept secrets on the coast. September and October often bring clear skies, golden light, and peaceful beaches after the summer crowds fade.

OTHER GREAT LOCATIONS

  • Devil’s Punchbowl is near Lincoln City. At low tide, you can walk into the bowl which is incredible. There are amazing rock formations and the color of the sandstone is vibrant.
  • Cape Lookout is a beautiful Oregon State Park with several wonderful hikes through the forest and a lovely beach. It is ideal for couples that want both types of scenery without traveling between locations.
  • Ecola State Park Overlook is another beautiful spot in Cannon Beach. The views overlooking are breathtaking. This is an ideal location for weddings with guest that have limited mobility. The grassy area is just steps from the parking lot and you can avoid trekking through the sand, but still have amazing beach views.
  • The southern Oregon Coast, especially the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor, is one of the most breathtaking places to elope in Oregon. This rugged 12-mile stretch of coastline near Brookings is known for its dramatic cliffs, hidden beaches, and incredible ocean views.
