Sherwood Senior Photographer

This Sherwood senior photographer session with Amy was one I had been looking forward to for so long. I first started photographing her a few years ago at Fired-Up Dance Academy, and she has always been such a talented and dedicated dancer. Getting to document this milestone season for her felt extra special.

One of the things I love most as a Sherwood senior photographer is how easy it is to create a full, varied gallery without traveling far. We started in Old Town Sherwood for a more urban, textured look. From there, it’s just a short five-minute drive to Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. Here we get open fields, greenery, and the most beautiful sunset light. Because of the time of year, we were even able to add in a quick stop at a small sunflower field. These sunflower photos added such a fun and unique touch to her gallery.

Late summer was the perfect choice for Amy’s session. The weather was warm, the light was golden, and the sunflower field was in bloom. I especially loved this location for her. Amy is tall, and the sunflowers still towered above her, which created such a dreamy, layered look in her photos.

Incorporating ballet into Amy’s senior photos made the session feel even more personal. Including an activity you love is one of the best ways to make your senior session truly reflect who you are. Whether it’s dance, sports, music, or another passion, it adds movement, meaning, and a deeper story to your images. Watching Amy move so effortlessly through her ballet poses was such a highlight.

We had such a fun and memorable time during her session, especially when her friends surprised her. Her mom had secretly arranged for them to show up, and they all jumped out onto the path together. They’ve been friends since elementary school, which made the moment even more meaningful. It was such a thoughtful surprise and the perfect way to capture this season of life before they all head off into their next chapter.
