UP Inspired Wedding in the Forest | Kailynn & Nick

Kailynn & Nick’s UP inspired themed wedding in the forest was the kind of day that perfectly blended heartfelt meaning, creativity, and a little bit of Oregon magic. Set on her grandparents’ farm in Scappoose, this forest wedding in Oregon felt deeply personal from start to finish—rain and all.

The weather may not have been ideal, with several heavy downpours throughout the day, but true to the spirit of an Oregon wedding, Kailynn & Nick embraced every moment. Not once did the rain dampen their joy. If anything, it made their romantic forest wedding feel even more intimate, tucked beneath towering trees and surrounded by lush greenery.

Their ceremony and reception took place in a beautiful wooded area on the farm, creating the dreamiest setting for a woodland wedding inspired by nature. The property itself was full of charm, with goats, a huge pig, and a stunning white horse adding to the relaxed, countryside feel. It was the kind of place that holds stories—and for Kailynn, it held a lifetime of memories.

Having grown up playing on this land, the location already meant so much. With the recent passing of her grandfather, the farm became even more meaningful. One of the most touching details of the day was a small heart sewn onto the back of Kailynn’s dress, made from one of his old shirts—a quiet, beautiful way to keep him close during such an important moment.

GETTING READY

Kailynn & Nick got ready in separate locations. I briefly stopped by to check on the guys and they were laughing and having a great time. Each of the groomsman wore different colored pastel bowties to match the bridesmaids dresses. Kailynn and all her special ladies were enjoying every minute getting ready together. These moments are always my favorite. Kailynn’s dress was gorgeous and the details were so pretty. Kailynn’s flower girl was absolutely adorable and loved having her photo taken.

FIRST LOOK AND WEDDING PARTY PHOTOS

After getting ready and heading over to the farm for the ceremony, Kailynn and Nick had their first look. They exchanged letters first, read them and then turned to each other and their sweet giggles were perfect. They were so happy to see each other and hug. Kailynn & Nick are so cute together and you can tell how in love they are. After their first look, we did some more wedding party photos just before the ceremony. All the flowers created by Brier & Ivy were absolutely stunning!

THE CEREMONY IN THE FOREST

Kailynn & Nick selected a special grove of trees on the farm for their ceremony. It was a beautiful forest spot, even with the dark gloomy clouds and I can see why they love this place. The aisles were lined with more beautiful signs created by Kailynn. They looked amazing. Kailynn’s dad walked her down the aisle and up the hill. The ceremony was lovely with several sweet moments. And they are now married!

“UP” MOVIE INSPIRED DETAILS

One of the most unique parts of this movie themed wedding in the forest was the subtle and thoughtful inspiration from the beloved film Up. Kailynn wove in details that felt whimsical, nostalgic, and deeply meaningful—perfectly reflecting the spirit of adventure and lifelong love that the movie represents.

Soft pastel colors were carried throughout the day, reminiscent of the iconic balloon scene, and stood out beautifully against the deep greens of the forest. Handcrafted signage featured Kailynn’s stunning calligraphy, with sweet nods to quotes and themes from Up woven into the décor.

Kailynn’s creativity truly shined here. She designed and made many of the details herself, including all of the signage, adding a personal, handcrafted touch that made the entire celebration feel one-of-a-kind.

THE RECEPTION ON THE FAMILY FARM

Kailynn & Nick’s reception was so much fun. For dinner they served their favorite meal, breakfast. There were pancakes and french toast, bacon and fruit. It was such a cool idea and everyone loved it. I don’t think they could keep the bacon basket filled. For dessert, Hello Cupcake created delicious fruity pebble cupcakes, cakes and other yummy treats. The cupcakes were so good! The tents did a great job keeping the rain out. Kailynn & Nick played the shoe game and that was hilarious. There were speeches and lots of laughs. And then there was dancing, lots of dancing and everyone joined in.

We snuck out of the reception for a few more couples photos before it got too dark. These two were having so much fun, the stress and hustle of wedding prep had passsed and they were so relaxed. They were enjoying every moment of their wedding day and their eyes were filled with love and happiness. They really are the sweetest couple.
