Tulip field sessions are one of the things I look forward to most each spring. The Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is truly magical, with rows and rows of vibrant tulips stretching across the fields in every color imaginable. It’s the kind of place that feels joyful and playful—perfect for families and little ones who love to explore.
This sweet girl is Miss Addie. She’s full of personality, always a little silly, and one of the most fun kids to photograph. Addie loves the mud, loves to run through the rows of flowers, and isn’t afraid to get a little dirty along the way. Last year it poured during her tulip session, and honestly… she loved every minute of it. This year we lucked out with beautiful spring weather, but her adventurous spirit was exactly the same.
Addie’s mom, Brenna, is a dear friend and an incredibly talented florist here in Portland. She created the most beautiful floral crown for Addie, and it was the perfect touch for photos in the tulip fields. Watching Addie run through the flowers with that crown was such a sweet reminder of how magical these spring sessions can be.

The tulip fields at Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm are one of the most beautiful places in Oregon for spring photos. The vibrant rows of colorful tulips create a stunning backdrop for family sessions. Because the fields are only open for a short time each year, it’s best to plan your session during peak bloom in early April when the flowers are at their most vibrant.
Sessions are typically scheduled close to sunset or just after sunrise, when the light is soft and flattering, creating that warm glow across the fields. It’s also one of the quieter times of day, which makes the experience more relaxed for families with little ones.
