A Summer Wedding at Oxbow Park | Debra & Michael

Debra & Michael’s summer wedding at Oxbow Regional Park was a beautiful celebration of love. Surrounded by family and close friends these two vowed to love one another forever. Debra and Michael have been together for a few years and today they made it official, Mr. & Mrs. The yellows and grays popped against the green forest. The sunflowers Debra chose for the bouquets and tables were so pretty, perfect for a summer wedding.

June weddings in Portland always carry a higher chance of rain than other summer months. On this day, it poured and poured. No amount of rain though was going to slow the celebration down. Rain is something a professional wedding photographer is ready for. It creates an opportunity to be more creative and think outside of the box. Oregon Wedding Photographers work in the rain all the time. It’s what makes Oregon beautiful and such a desired area of the country to say, “I do”. Debra & Michael were up for anything, even if it meant dashing out from the covered reception for a few quick photos then popping back under to dry off.

Bride Getting Ready & Details

I met Debra before the ceremony at a quaint little hotel near Oxbow Regional Park. With her sisters and mom by her side, she slipped into her beautiful tea length vintage style dress. The details of the dress were so pretty. Debra wore sparkly ballet flats and her veil was so delicate. Debra looked absolutely gorgeous!

Bride & Sisters arriving at Oxbow Regional Park

Debra and her sisters arrived at the park and the sun was shining for a moment. While family and friends finished setting everything up we took a moment hidden away for a few photos of Debra with her beautiful sisters. I love Debra’s bouquet. The sunflowers were a perfect pop of color. Debra and her sisters are so cute. They have a strong bond with one another and it was so fun watching them giggle and laugh together.

The Ceremony | Summer Wedding at Oxbow Regional Park

No rain or risk of downpour was going to keep this ceremony from taking place outside. Against a lush green forest backdrop Debra and Michael said, “I do”. Every ceremony I photograph makes me teary-eyed and this one was no different. The love these two share is unbreakable. They are going to have an amazing life together.

Couples Photos

Between breaks in the rain we were able to sneak in some special time just for the couple. These two were so cute, they could have kissed and kissed all night. Michael is a sweetheart and is so sweet with his new bride. I am so happy for them!

The Reception | Summer Wedding at Oxbow Regional Park

Debra & Michael’s reception took place under one of the covered picnic areas at Oxbow Regional Park. The covered area provided the much needed shelter from the rain. Beautiful handmade details and delicious custom M&M’s decorated the tables. Delicious tacos from the famous Porque No? were served. Those were so good. Toasts were made, cake and cupcakes were eaten, and many wonderful memories were made on this special day.

One Last Spin in the Rain

Before leaving for the evening, Debra and Michael joined me for one last spin and a few more photos. These two are so excited to start their married lives together. They both have incredible families that are just as excited to see them married.
