Pacific City Sunrise Elopement | Renae + Dan

Pacific City is a very popular Oregon Coast town, especially for Elopements. The beauty of Cape Kiwanda is hard to match anywhere else along the Coast. When Renae and Dan decided to elope along the Oregon Coast, they envisioned a day of intimacy, romance, and unforgettable beauty. For them, the magic wasn’t in the grand celebration or the number of guests, but in the simplicity of the moment, the love they shared, and the breathtaking natural surroundings that would frame their vows. And what better way to kick off this new chapter of their lives than with a sunrise elopement in the stunning Pacific City?

Why a Sunrise Elopement?

Renae and Dan were drawn to the idea of a sunrise ceremony for a few compelling reasons. For one, the early morning hours offered a sense of peace and solitude that was hard to find at other times of the day. The Oregon Coast is stunning at any time, but at dawn, it’s almost otherworldly. The sky’s soft, muted colors gently rise over the horizon, casting a golden glow across the beach and ocean, offering a serene backdrop for two people beginning a lifetime together. Most importantly, a sunrise beach elopement ensures you have the beach all to yourself. No crowds, no people causing distractions or watching these intimate moments. Sunrise is a great option to say I DO!

Why did Renae + Dan choose a Pacific City Sunrise Elopement?

When Renae and Dan first discussed their wedding plans, they knew they didn’t want the traditional, large-scale event. They envisioned a day that was all about them—one that allowed them to focus entirely on their connection, away from distractions. For Renae, the idea of eloping was freeing. It meant no stress, no worry about keeping up with the expectations of others. It meant freedom to experience their vows with the ocean breeze in their hair and the waves crashing nearby.

Their decision to elope wasn’t about avoiding family or friends, but about creating a personal and meaningful moment just for the two of them. The simplicity and intimacy of their elopement made it possible for them to fully immerse themselves in the moment, without the noise of planning or the pressure of a big crowd.

I stopped by Renae + Dan's Airbnb the day before to photograph her dress and the small details. Because they were getting married at Sunrise, I would have missed these photos. These photos were very important to her. She found the perfect dress, a sparkling creation that caught the first rays of light as the sun began to rise. The dress was light, airy, and designed to move with her. Renae + Dan also had the most beautiful vow books. They were handmade using the most luxurious paper. Dan chose a stunning ring for Renae, the sparkle and shine was breathtaking.

Just before the sun came up, we started their elopement morning on the rocks up against Cape Kiwanda. They both had the cutest lanterns that really added to the romance of the morning.

After spending time on this side of Cape Kiwanda, we drove over to the north side for their vow exchange. The sun was rising and it was a lovely Oregon Coast morning. They were so happy and completely in awe of the flower arch waiting for them on the beach. Wildflower Hill Floral did such an amazing job creating the floral arch with a bit of fun and whimsy. It was stunning! Renae's bouquet was even more spectacular.

Renae + Dan exchanged vows that were raw, real, and full of emotion. Their words spoke of their journey together, of the small moments that had brought them closer, and of the love that had blossomed into something far greater than they ever imagined.

There was no scripted speech or rehearsed line—just heartfelt promises spoken with authenticity and vulnerability. Their vows weren’t just words; they were pledges for a lifetime of partnership, adventure, and support.

Next, we completed the morning with photos in the dune grasses and in the rocks. We had the perfect low tide which enabled us to really get into the rocky area of Cape Kiwanda. Renae + Dan were bursting with joy and happiness. Their sunrise elopement was incredible!

Renae + Dan’s sunrise elopement in Pacific City was a perfect beginning to their forever. It wasn’t about the decorations or the guest list—it was about their love, their vows, and the beauty of the world around them. The Oregon Coast, with its stunning landscapes and peaceful quiet, set the stage for a wedding that was as much about nature’s grandeur as it was about the deep, personal connection between two people in love. I wish them a lifetime of love, happiness and laughter!
