Oregon Waterfall Elopement | Sarah + Chris

Sarah and Chris were so excited to get married at an Oregon waterfall. They had visited the area several times and looked at several waterfall location options for their elopement. Abiqua Falls was chosen and they said "I do" on a record setting rainy day. The creek started rising and the rain didn't let up once. You can see more from that wet day here: Abiqua Falls Oregon Elopement. Because of the rain, their portrait time was cut short. We had to hike out before getting trapped by the high water. So, we waited 2 days and then went back to Abiqua Falls early in the morning. We hiked into the waterfall and were treated with the most amazing light shining through the water and spray. I was so happy we were still able to create some beautiful images and wonderful memories.

Oregon Waterfall Options for Elopements

There are so many Oregon Waterfalls throughout the state. Some waterfalls require hiking while others are a short walk from the parking lot. In the Columbia River Gorge, there are numerous waterfalls options. Multnomah Falls is very public and busy, which isn't always ideal. However, an early morning elopement works great there. Latourell Falls is my favorite waterfall in the Gorge. It's an easy walk from the parking lot and you can get really close to the waterfall. In the summer, you even can reach out and touch it. The area is beautiful and ideal for eloping or an intimate wedding ceremony. On the Coast, fall through early summer, Hug Point has a beautiful waterfall that crashes down onto the sand. For the more adventurous couples, Abiqua Falls includes an intense drive down to the trailhead and a wild hike to the falls. This makes is much more private, with the exception of summer weekends. There are so many other waterfall options, but those are a few of my favorites.

Whether you want to hike into a hidden waterfall like Abiqua Falls, walk to a well known waterfalls, or say “I Do” on the beach, Oregon is the perfect place for your wedding.
