Why you should get married

along the oregon coast

01

The Oregon Coast offers the most dramatic scenery, from rocky shores and cliffs, to thick forests and incredible vistas. There are sandy beaches with hidden waterfalls and caves. Eloping along the Oregon Coast can look like a hike through the forest and ceremony high above the ocean, or it can be on the beach with the waves crashing behind you. The possibilities are endless.

The beauty of the Oregon Coast is unmatched in the Pacific Northwest and ideal for weddings- no matter the size or desired amount of privacy. There truly is a perfect location for every couple to have the most amazing wedding experience.

Within a 90 minute drive from Portland, you can be on the beach with your loved one, splashing your toes in the water or going for an epic hike. Some of my favorite locations for eloping at the Oregon Coast are near the cities of Cannon Beach, Lincoln City and Newport Oregon.

what is the weather like at the Oregon Coast?

02

The weather at the Oregon Coast is rather mild year round. Of course, this is Oregon, so rain likes to make an appearance often. Some days are full of sunshine and no wind, other days are gloomy and gray. No matter the weather, the Oregon Coast is magical and often, I prefer the cloudy days to the bright sun-filled days.

WINTER & SPRING: Rain chances are the highest this time of year, but also the best chances for a random 70 degree in January or February. Beaches are less crowded and lodging options are numerous.

SUMMER & FALL: Ideal time to plan your wedding if sunshine and more predictable weather is important. Extreme low tides are more common, which is amazing for certain locations. Beaches are very crowded on weekends and lodging is at a premium.

Favorite locationS near

cannon beach | hug Point & Haystack Rock

03

Hug Point has been one of most favorite beaches on the Oregon Coast for a long time. Over the years, it has become more popular. However, with some extra planning prep, you can still have the beach to yourself. There are incredible cliffs and sandstone rocks, hidden caves, a waterfall and so much more. If you are considering having your Elopement or Wedding ceremony at Hug Point, make sure you plan around low tide. Most of what makes Hug Point so amazing is hidden during high tide. This beach I continue to come back to time and time again.

Haystack Rock is the symbol of Cannon Beach and most well known landmark. The rock creates a beautiful backdrop and amazing reflections in the wet sand. This is a popular location, but avoiding the weekends will really help cut down on the crowds. Luckily, its a very long beach so there is room for everyone!

other favorite oregon coast

wedding locations

Devil's Punchbowl is near Lincoln City. At low tide, you can walk into the bowl which is incredible. There are amazing rock formations and the color of the sandstone is vibrant. This location is also near several other favorites, so it's great for a multiple location weddings.

Cape Lookout is a beautiful Oregon State Park with several wonderful hikes through the forest and a lovely beach. It is ideal for couples that want both types of scenery without traveling between locations.

Ecola State Park Overlook is another beautiful spot in Cannon Beach. The views overlooking are breathtaking. This is an ideal location for weddings with guest that have limited mobility. The grassy area is just steps from the parking lot and you can avoid trekking through the sand, but still have amazing beach views.
