Hager’s European Vacation 2018 | Belgium
Our next stop after London, Paris, and Pierrefonds, we continued our drive north to Bruges, Belgium. It was a pretty quick and easy drive to Bruges. We arrived after dark so we checked into our hotel and then had dinner. We woke up bright and early and ready to explore one of the cutest little towns I have ever seen. There is no car traffic allowed in the center of Bruges making it the perfect place to stroll.
We left the hotel and followed our noses to the outdoor market. There were so many different food stalls. Everything looked so beautiful and it smelled amazing. We had some roasted potatoes and chicken, sampled some cheeses and meats and instantly fell in love with Bruges. After our snacks we stopped at a little chocolate shop for hot chocolate. This was the most delicious hot chocolate. We watched them working in the kitchen and bought some gifts to bring home.
After warming up, we hopped on the boat for a tour through the canals of Bruges. It was a fun seeing the town from the water. It was a highlight of our trip for sure. We stayed the night in Bruges and the following day we drove to Ghent. We explored the castle, walked around the town and then continued driving up to Amsterdam for our last stop.
