Fall Family Photos at George Rogers Park
Fall family photos at George Rogers Park are always so beautiful. George Rogers Park is located in Lake Oswego, right on the lake. There is so much variety in the park, which really makes it a great photo spot all year round. The park has a historic Iron Furnace which is all brick and provides great texture in the background. There is also a cool bridge, beautiful nature areas and of course, the lakefront. George Rogers Park is a go-to spot for fall family sessions.
That is why I suggested the park for this family session with the Schoen Family. I have been photographing this family since Katie was first pregnant with Ella. It has been an incredible journey documenting big and small milestones for their family. I love working with families year after year, and baby after baby. We really get to know each other and that makes every session more like hanging out with friends, catching up and creating some beautiful images. Katie did a wonderful job putting together the outfits for the family. I love how the orange popped against the green, brick and rocks. It was so great seeing them this fall and I can't wait to see them next year.

When to schedule Fall Family Photos
Family photo sessions can take any time during the year. The most popular times are between Spring and Fall. Fall photos are typically booked in September, October and early November. Peak fall color in usually mid-October. I love September family photos because the weather is still warm and most predictable. You can still wear summery clothing and nature areas are lush. In October, the leaves start to change and this is what makes fall in Oregon so special. The weather is usually still pretty good, until later in the month. But it never is too cold. October is one of the busiest months for family sessions, so it's best to get on the calendar soon. Finally, in November, the leaves are falling off the trees and the temperatures are getting cooler. This is a perfect month for sweaters, layers and plenty of family snuggles. Also in November, Christmas tree farms become a location option, which is a fun alternate to fall photos. No matter what time of year you book, I will help with location ideas and outfit inspiration!
