Cannon Beach Winter Elopement at Hug Point | Danielle + Josh

Danielle & Josh’s Cannon Beach winter elopement was incredible this month. It was warm, for January, no wind and the sun even came out for their ceremony. Winter elopements in Oregon can be a toss up with the weather, but we really lucked out. Danielle & Josh knew they wanted to get married in Oregon. After considering a waterfall in the gorge or the Oregon Coast, they decided the beach would be the perfect place to get married. They were visiting Oregon from Pennsylvania. A few years ago they had come to Oregon for the first time and fell in love with the area. So they knew an Oregon elopement was ideal for them.

We started in front of Haystack Rock for a few quick portraits. It was a very busy day in Cannon Beach, but with the power of editing, it appears we had the beach to ourselves. After we headed to Hug Point, my most favorite Cannon Beach location. The waterfall was so full due to all the rain we had in the beginning of January. Their ceremony was so sweet. Carolyn of Oregon Beach Ceremonies officiated beautifully. Danielle & Josh did a sand ceremony, with different colored sand representing them and each of their kids. I loved this idea. Family watched via Zoom and were so happy to be a part of their wedding day, although they were on the other side of the United States.

Danielle & Josh were so much fun to photograph. They love each other so much and I know they are going to have an amazing life together. Congratulations Danielle & Josh!!
