Abigail’s Garden Fall Wedding | Mariah + Alex
As a Portland wedding photographer, I’m always drawn to celebrations that feel intentional and true to each couple—and Mariah and Alex’s fall wedding at Abigail’s Garden at the Abernathy Center was exactly that. The day brought off-and-on rain showers (a very Oregon experience). But, instead of taking away from the celebration, it added to the story. Just as their ceremony began, the rain paused, leaving behind soft, diffused light and a quiet stillness that made Abigail’s Garden feel incredibly intimate.
Mariah was stunning in her beautiful wedding dress, and photographing her in that soft post-rain light was such a dream. The design of the day reflected a refined, effortless style. Sage green details paired with abundant white flowers created a look that felt both elevated and organic. These are the kinds of details I’m always drawn to as a photographer—elements that don’t just look beautiful, but feel cohesive and meaningful within the space.
This day was a perfect reflection of what I love most about documenting weddings in Oregon: embracing the unexpected, staying present, and creating space for moments to unfold naturally. Mariah and Alex trusted the process, and because of that, their wedding felt relaxed, genuine, and deeply connected. As a Portland wedding photographer, these are the celebrations I’m most inspired by—intentional days in beautiful places, where the focus stays on what matters most.
GETTING READY | MARIAH + BRIDESMAIDS
Mariah’s morning was calm and full of anticipation as she got ready surrounded by soft light and her closest people. Every moment felt intentional, from slipping into her princess bridal gown to the quiet in-between moments before the day began at Abigail’s Garden. There was plenty of space for all the bridesmaids to get ready, which is always nice to have for your wedding party.

GETTING READY | ALEX + GROOMSMEN
Alex’s getting ready space had an easy, relaxed energy that reflected the tone of the day. Capturing those candid moments with his people added such a genuine layer to their fall wedding at Abigail’s Garden. There was plenty of laughter and they helped each other with their ties.

THE CEREMONY UNDER THE WILLOW TREE
Just as the ceremony began, the rain paused—one of those perfectly-timed Oregon moments. The gazebo was set against the natural beauty of Abigail’s Garden and an amazing willow tree. Their ceremony felt intimate, emotional, and deeply personal. Mariah and Alex’s vows included personal memories and very fun, playful list of promises.

WEDDING PARTY + FAMILY PHOTOS
The wedding party brought such a fun, supportive energy to the day, making this portion feel effortless and joyful. The fall vibes of Abigail’s Garden created a beautiful backdrop. Family joined in for family photos. Then photos were interrupted by a brief rain shower. Luckily, umbrellas were on hand.

WEDDING DETAILS
The details were a perfect blend of refined and organic, with sage green accents and abundant white flowers. Everything complemented the setting at Abigail’s Garden, enhancing the overall feel of this fall wedding without overwhelming it. Mariah put in hours and hours of hard work creating unique wedding details. Here guest seating book wall was incredible. Every guest had a custom book box made by Mariah, with their table number. It was so beautiful and a very unique wedding seating chart.

THE RECEPTION UNDER THE TENT
The reception was lively and full of personality, with guests packing the dance floor throughout the night. A dance video game projected on a screen got everyone involved. It kept the energy high in a fun, interactive way. The speeches were a standout—thoughtful, funny, and genuinely memorable.
