Oregon Coast Photographer | Hug Point
When I first discovered this little beach I fell in love. Its not one of the big beaches along the Oregon Coast. Most people have never heard of this beach or know where it is. Hug Point is located about 5 miles south of Cannon Beach. There is so much to explore at Hug Point, especially if you visit during low tide. There is a waterfall on the beach, caves, tidepools and more. This makes Hug Point the perfect place to take kids to explore. This also makes Hug Point the perfect place for photo sessions, especially engagement and wedding photos. Before I share an amazing styled Beach Wedding Elopement that took place at Hug Point in the spring, I will first share with you the beauty of this incredible beach along the Oregon Coast.
The different beach areas at Hug Point are so unique and beautiful. The different layers of rock and the many colors of the cliffs are so pretty. There are little caves and coves up and down the beach. Some of the caves and coves at Hug Point cannot be accessed during high tide. Always be aware of the tides and keep an eye on the waves.
How cool is the waterfall? I have never been to a beach with a waterfall. Its the perfect location for me, the best of my two favorites, the beach and waterfalls. I have visited Hug Point in the summer and the waterfall was just a little trickle. Keep this in mind if you are planning a summer visit. When I visited Hug Point this trip, there were hundreds of little blue jelly fish washed up all along the shore. They look so delicate and the colors are amazing.
As the sun started to set, the beauty of Hug Point was overwhelming. To one end of the beach, the fog started rolling in. The sunset was beautiful. This is by far one of my most favorite beaches along the Oregon Coast.
