Frozen Multnomah Falls | Our First Adventure of 2016
There is no better way to celebrate the New Year then to get outside and go exploring. Of course, when its freezing and 18 degrees with the wind chill, it can be a very cold adventure. With all the below freezing temperatures lasting several days, we decided to check out Multnomah Falls and see how frozen it was. The kids opted to stay home so it was just my husband and I. It was the perfect day date!
Multnomah Falls is one of the most visited places in Oregon. The waterfall is always busy with people around the world coming to look see its beauty. We went in the middle of the day and expected the parking lot to be full. We were very surprised to find a spot rather easily. That should have been our first clue about how cold it would be outside. Once we stepped out of the car, we were instantly frozen from the cold temps and the gusty winds. It was freezing!!
As soon as we passed under the overpass, the most beautiful frozen waterfall was in front of us. It was incredible and so beautiful. The water crashing down was so loud, not because of volume, but from hitting the ice below. Multnomah Falls is so pretty in the winter and especially when partially frozen.
And our first iPhone selfie of the year!
