Abiqua Falls Oregon Elopement Photographer | Sarah + Chris

Abiqua Falls is magical waterfall in Oregon, hidden down a trail through the woods. After hiking straight down the hill and crossing the rocks, you come around the corner and see the most amazing waterfall and plunge pools. The rock walls are beautiful and this is such a special place for an Oregon Elopement. Sarah and Chris planned their elopement ceremony for October with 40 of their closest friends and family. They all traveled up to Oregon from California. Abiqua Falls is a very popular place with limited parking, therefore non-peak summer months are the best option. The weather in early fall tends to be nice, but it is Oregon, so you never know.

Well, on this particular October day, it was an absolute downpour. It started raining before we even began the hike into the waterfall. We all had hopes that the rain would break for the ceremony, but that was not the case. It rained and rained. The water in the plunge pool started to rise, faster and faster. After Sarah and Chris said “I Do” we did a few photos and then had to rush back up the trail. By the time we had to pass close the river, it was up over the rocks. It was an incredibly wet adventure and something none of us will ever forget. They say rain is good luck on your wedding day, so this might just be the luckiest couple ever.
